Air-cooled V-twin engines run hot. They share oil between the engine, transmission, and primary chaincase, which means a single oil has to handle extreme heat, gear loads, and clutch friction all at once. For on-road use in engines and transmissions, AMSOIL 15W-60 V-Twin Motorcycle Oil provides premium protection for up to 2X the motorcycle manufacturer-recommended change interval, or one year, whichever comes first, when paired with an AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Oil Filter. Change other brand filters at standard intervals. For off-road use, follow the standard manufacturer-recommended change interval. For racing or modified engines, no specific interval recommendation is made.
